Expressive Type

Project Context

Using the lyrics from "Love Me Again," a song by John Newman, I created an expressive typography piece, where the text is designed to reflect the meaning of the words. As I listened to the song, the language was quite demonic. This inspired me to style the text like a Noir film. These kinds of movies are characterized by their dark themes, and they are known to be primarily in black and white. 

Visually, I utilized the black and white and only used shades of red, a color associated with love, lips, blood, and hell. When I printed out this piece, I arranged everything horizontally. Then I folded the strip of paper into an accordion booklet.
